See DetailsYes, many organic waste gas treatment equipment now do have automatic cleaning functions, just like the dishwasher or sweeping robot at home, which can "bathe" by itself to maintain working efficiency. The automatic cleaning of these equipment mainly relies on two methods: physical flushing and chemical dissolution. For example, some equipment is equipped with a spray system inside, which sprays water or cleaning liquid regularly like a high-pressure water gun to wash off the oil and dust adhering to the adsorption material (such as activated carbon) or the treatment components (such as plasma tubes, ultraviolet lamps). Some equipment uses high-temperature steam or hot air to "steam" the adsorbed pollutants like a sauna. For example, after the zeolite wheel treats the waste gas, it will automatically use hot air at about 200°C to desorb, which not only cleans the wheel but also recovers the pollutants.
The benefits of automatic cleaning are obvious: saving time, labor and money. For example, if the fume purifier in the catering industry is manually cleaned, the machine must be disassembled and soaked in medicine, which is time-consuming and labor-intensive and easy to damage parts. However, the equipment with automatic cleaning can be set to automatically spray cleaning liquid at midnight every day, and it can be used directly the next day, and the oil will not accumulate into lumps. Another example is the plasma waste gas treatment equipment used in factories. The metal electrodes inside will be covered with sticky organic matter after a long time of use. The automatic flushing system uses alkaline liquid to circulate and flush, which can prevent short circuits and extend the life of the electrodes. Some high-end equipment can even "take a bath while working". For example, while burning waste gas, the RTO incinerator switches the valve to allow the high-temperature waste gas to reversely flush the heat storage ceramics and blow away the accumulated dust, without stopping the machine or affecting the treatment efficiency.
However, automatic cleaning is not a panacea. It depends on the type of equipment and working conditions. For example, the activated carbon adsorption box for treating paint exhaust gas can automatically desorb, but the activated carbon will still age after a long time of use, and regular replacement is inevitable; and the zeolite rotor for treating high-concentration waste gas in chemical plants, although it is said that "there is no need to change the adsorption material", it is necessary to check whether the zeolite is agglomerated or damaged every few years. In addition, the effect of automatic cleaning is also affected by the environment. For example, in the north, when the temperature is minus ten degrees in winter, the water pipes may freeze and cause the spraying to fail. At this time, manual intervention is still required. In general, the automatic cleaning function makes environmental protection equipment more "smart", but whether it can be used and whether it is cost-effective depends on the factory's exhaust gas concentration and operating frequency.
